SS22 Bagno Paradiso - English

Spring – Summer ’22

Bagno Paradiso

Heavenly holiday feeling in an ever purer collection

This season, Nathalie will take you on a journey. She invited photographer Lynn Laureys to her second home in Italy and together they went to all her favourite places for the campaign shoot.

Not only has this resulted in a highly personal collection: the images also bring you very close to Nathalie's world.

Italian summer

It is as if a young Monica Bellucci and Farrah Fawcett found their way to Italy in the 1960s and ’70s on a road trip, many years before Thelma and Louise. This is a unique quality of Nathalie’s universe: she doesn’t like to be tied down to a single source of inspiration or time period. Instead, she is attracted by specific atmospheres and strong figures. The campaign shoot exudes relaxation and a sexy sense of liberation in a summer setting. Little cups of coffee in the morning, dolce far niente by day and dressing with a hint of nostalgia for a sultry summer evening.

In-house prints

This season, all the prints were once again designed in-house by Nathalie's daughter Felix. The doodles, pen and pencil drawings that have flowed from her hand for years at unguarded moments, formed the starting point. The doodle prints have a playful, almost naive and uncomplicated character as a result. Their fresh colours are reflected in the choice of fabrics and knitting yarns, making the entire collection feel like a walk on a sunny spring day.

Felix shares Nathalie’s love of botanical elements, which is clearly reflected in both the doodle prints and the refined floral prints. Inspiration from architecture is also never far away for this mother-daughter duo. In contrast to the naive figurative prints, there are the graphic prints inspired by Brutalism, with eloquent names such as ‘blue bofill’ and ‘green umemoto’ in which the legacy of the architects resonates.

Combine to your heart’s content

Combinability has always been one of Nathalie Vleeschouwer’s strengths. As more and more plain fabrics find their way into the collection, the combination options are constantly expanding. This season we see many fabrics with an interesting structure, yet still a distinctly light-hearted character: seersucker qualities with a waffled effect, linen, tetra, sandwashed twill, broderie anglaise... fantasy stripes and checks also contribute to the rich mix.

The wide range of knitwear is now also an unmissable aspect of the collection. They range from fine cottons used as a T-shirt and luxurious Ecovero viscose yarns with a second-skin feel to fine woolly alpaca jerseys and chunky alpaca-mohair cardigans and sweaters knitted in Belgium. Everything coordinates with the prints and plain fabrics, so the combinations feel very natural.

HAND, summer denim capsule collection for him and her

In past seasons, Nathalie Vleeschouwer has built up the tradition of offering a capsule collection in addition to the main line. Every season, HAND offers a pure line that is distinctly casual, with a slightly bolder edge. Although the fabrics are deliberately unisex, the models still distinguish between men, women & maternity, because ensuring a good fit for everyone is always essential.

HAND SS22 is all about summer denim, a sturdy but airy cotton twill in 3 colours and a heavier dark denim that is not seasonal and will stay in the collection for longer. The denim items are complemented by 1970s-inspired rib cotton T-shirts with a contrast hem and comfy tracksuits.

All the items are available in 4 understated colours: bossa nova, mineral blue, cream & dark blue. Simplicity is key: you can simply wear the garments ton-sur-ton or mix up to 2 colours for a simple and understated look.
